Knott’s Scary Farm 40th Anniversary Event

Scary

Knott’s Scary Farm Halloween Haunt has been around since 1973 and is the first halloween themed event of it’s kind in the world. They started out with five monsters with styrofoam sets, to 1,000 monsters with the most amazing halloween decorations seen anywhere. This year is their 40th anniversary, so the park is bigger and better than before. Other than the very creepy monsters you can hope to see: 13 themed mazes and ride-through attractions, 9 live shows, and 4 scares zones where the monsters get close enough to almost touch you.

The moment you walk into the park, it’s dimly lit with fog thick enough to bump into other attendees. It give the park a very “Nightmare on Elm Street” kind of feel, which is why they don’t recommend the event for anyone under 13. If you have a friend that’s a big scaredy cat you will have added fun watching your buddies cower in fear at every turn. Looking for a place to take that girl you always wanted to hug? The Haunt is a great place to scare your sweety right into your arms and be their comforting hero. If you want to check out the “Trapped” maze I suggest booking it right when you get there because it fills up fast since its the first reservation-only maze in the park and people will be scrambling to get in.

The Scary Farm event opens at 7pm and ends at 1am, except for friday and saturday when it closes at 2am. The days for the event are as follows: Sept. 21-22, Sept. 27-30, Oct. 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 25-28, & 30-31. Tickets are on sale online from $36-$52 and at the gate for $60. Online tickets can be purchased at www.knotts.com.

Tips:
1) No halloween costumes. You will not get in if you are wearing one.
2) Bring plenty of water. Even though its October, it will still be pretty warm out.
3) Wear comfortable shoes. You will be doing a lot of walking to get to everything.
4 )Arrive early. A lot of the attractions are going to be crowded so hit the things you want to do/see the most first.
5) Eat at Pink’s! Pink’s is located outside the gate of the park and has very good food for a cheap price.
