Have no internet? Buy a 360 says Don Mattrick (Microsoft’s president of Interactive Entertainment)
So in many ways, E3 was the week to bring relevance back to the inherent gaming console war. With Sony having an overwhelmingly good press conference, Microsoft has to do everything within its power to win back their original XBOX fan base. Fans and gamers alike, question Microsoft’s motives to see the possibility of what their direction is in the console gaming future.
Geoff Keighley (host of Game Trailers TV) asked Don Mattrick (President of Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft) about the overwhelming controversy of the online only feature of the upcoming XBOX ONE.
Here was his response:
“Fortunately we have a product for people who aren’t able to get some form of connectivity, its called the XBOX 360″
E3 Day 1 Recap: Microsoft Press Conference
Day 1 of E3 was eventful, to say the least — and Microsoft was the first company to leave its mark.
In hindsight, the slight delay at the beginning of their conference ended up being the least of their problems.
Still, Microsoft showed some interesting things, and made a decent showing in the morning.
Firstly, Microsoft surprised everyone by opening with Konami’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
In a new trailer, that showed a lot of open-world gameplay and featured the new voice of Snake, Kiefer Sutherland, they revealed that this would be a cross-platform game.
Claiming 13 titles exclusive to XboxOne, they went back to xbox 360 for the next portion of their conference.
